People under the age of 18 are protected by Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport policy and procedures.
If you are a young person (under 18)
- If you have not yet learned to fly or gained a Club Pilot rating, please read about learning to fly.
- If you have attained at least Club Pilot (CP) level, please contact your club or the SHPF for advice on how to get support to continue your flying.
If you are a club approached by a young person
The SHPF has Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport (CWPS) Officer to assist clubs in meeting the statutory requirements for supporting young people.
Please contact the SHPF CWPS Officer (CWPO) using the CWPS contact form in the first instance if you would like advice. The CWPO can be contacted at any time.
If you are ready to welcome a young person into your Club, the CWPO will provide you with Club specific Young Persons Agreement and Parent/Carers/Consent forms for signature after you provide relevant details for your Club using the SHPF Initial Club Return to CWPO. You are strongly advised to ensure that these forms are signed and returned before Club members start supporting a young person.
