Here's the latest from Nationals Coordinator Scott Mather on the plans for this years rounds:
The weather is coming on and a number of flights have been had and the winter league will close in 10 days. Many will be looking to XC season with relish and why not? We have a great place to fly in. The Scottish Nationals is a low level, friendly, competition series hosted by those clubs affiliated to the SHPF and is open to all members of these clubs. You do not have to be a hot shot you can be fresh out of school and fly. It is as much about meeting other flyers and flying new sites whilst building your skills. Previous entrants have gone on to fly in Paragliding World Cups! And may fly both in same year. Due to the vagaries of the weather the format can be XC, defined task and even spot landing for those accuracy fanatics out there.
The calendar is as follows (dates may change due to weather etc.):
- Highland: 21-22 May
- Arran: 28-29 May
- Ochils: 2-3 July
- Wingbeat: 27-28 August
- LLSC: to coincide with club BBQ
- Aberdeen: TBC (probably April or May)
Any questions just get in touch. Have a good season and look forward to getting to some rounds.
